Nissan ProPILOT Assist: Stress-Free Highway Driving
ProPILOT Assist is Nissan's suite of semi-autonomous driver assistance technologies designed to reduce the stress and fatigue of long drives and stop-and-go highway traffic.
The Core System (ProPILOT Assist 1.1) This "hands-on" system combines Intelligent Cruise Control and Steering Assist to manage acceleration, braking, and steering. It actively keeps the vehicle centered in its lane and maintains a safe distance from the car ahead, even bringing the vehicle to a complete stop and resuming travel in heavy traffic.
Advanced Versions & Features Nissan offers increasingly sophisticated versions of the system, including ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link, which uses the navigation system to predict road conditions (like upcoming curves and off-ramps) and smoothly adjust speed.
The newest iterationsāProPILOT Assist 2.0 (on the Nissan ARIYA) and 2.1 (on the 2025 Nissan Rogue SL/Platinum)āintroduce advanced, on-map hands-free driving capabilities. ProPILOT Assist 2.1 further enhances this experience by enabling:
Assisted Lane Changes: Overtaking slower vehicles with driver confirmation.
Exit Ramp Guidance: Following the pre-set navigation route and guiding the vehicle toward the correct exit.
Google Built-in: Integration with Google Maps and Assistant for real-time traffic and voice controls.
